Stem cells are the building blocks and the origin of all cell types in our body.

They are different from other cells of the body in that they have the ability to differentiate into other cell/tissue types. This ability allows them to replace cells that have died. With this ability, they have been used to replace defective cells/tissues in patients who have certain diseases or defects. Read more.

Although these cells can be found in our circulation almost at all stages of our lives, but it would be much wiser to harvest and freeze them while they are younger. This can be of tremendous benefit to us in the future. No one knows what the future holds for us or for our loved ones.

Storing our stem cells could be considered as an insurance policy for us in case we need them if we get into a health crisis.
